Software for Real-Time Test Saves Time, Cost in Flight Control Simulation System Development

SAGINAW, Michigan – October 25, 2012 – Wineman Technology, Inc., the leader in providing the right technical solution for solving a wide range of test applications, today announced it delivered a successful flight control simulation system to Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC). SNC needed a hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) flight surface actuation simulator to verify design and performance of the flight control system for the Dream Chaser commercial transport spacecraft. Wineman Technology’s solution reduced time and cost by using INERTIA, a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) test automation software specifically designed for quickly and efficiently implementing real-time control and test applications.

Michigan Tech Mobile Lab at CNH Burr Ridge Facility

Today the Michigan Tech Mobile Lab was at the CNH facility in Burr Ridge, Illinois. The lab is a fully outfitted engineering laboratory focusing on hybrid-electric vehicle (HEV) and features a powertrain test cell, a portable chassis dynamometer, and two full-sized hybrid electric vehicles. New Product: DynEDGE Controller

The DynEDGE controller for dynamometers is an integrated, multi-loop control and data acquisition system designed specifically for dynamometer applications, including system modernizations, new installations, and complete test cell control and data acquisition systems. The system is built on National Instruments (NI) VeriStand™ software and Wineman Technology INERTIA™ add-on, embedded on a multi-core NI PXI real-time controller and housed in a single full height 19” rack-mount enclosure. INERTIA software for real-time control provides a complete test profile editor with system configuration for defining I/O channels, shutdown procedures, PID control loop, and alarms.
