Wineman Technology, Inc., an international test systems integrator, today announced the company has formed a strategic relationship with Viviota, innovator of engineering big data management and deep insight software, to offer comprehensive electromechanical test and data analytics solutions targeted at automotive, medical device, and aerospace markets.
To help engineers develop test systems in the southeast region, Wineman launched the Raleigh, NC office in August of 2011. Since that time, the team has provided surge support to test engineering teams for ongoing design efforts or created one-of-a-kind test systems from the ground up across more than 100 projects. When engaging our Raleigh group, product designers and test engineers get to work with local Certified LabVIEW Architects with deep knowledge in computer engineering, math, and physics for software development while employing the electrical, mechanical, and build expertise of a Michigan-based test systems design firm familiar with the technical demands of the aerospace and automotive industries.
A custom, state-of-the-art hub test stand developed by Wineman Technology was recently featured in Automotive Testing Technology International, and OEM Off-Highway publications. We worked with GKN Wheels & Structures – a global company that provides products and services for agriculture, construction, mining, and other off-highway industries – to increase their hub and spindle fatigue testing capabilities. The goals of the new hub test equipment were to eliminate expensive field testing, develop lighter hub castings, and speed time-to-market.

The company was also honored with the NI Alliance Partner Network Gold Level Outstanding Technical Resources award. NI presented these awards today at NIWeek, the annual conference for its Alliance Partners and customers, held May 22-25 in Austin, Texas.
I’ve been trying to find time to write a blog about my experiences with FIRST Robotics Competition since I wrote the first one last year. This is my third year working with a First Team and my first year as the head coach. I’d like to tell that I have everything figured out and that my 25+ years of experience building custom equipment, using LabVIEW and managing engineers has made team 5703 a championship-level team however, I must admit that I learn more every year than the students do. Sure, I have more experience and technical skills than they do but they certainly have me beat in terms of enthusiasm, a “can do” attitude and imagination. After a long build and competition season I’m tired and ready for a break but I can’t help but feel renewed after working with the students.
We are happy to announce that we have two new sales executives. Todd VanGilder has assumed the role of Vice President of Sales. For the last 10 years, he served as Engineering Manager of Wineman Technology's Clarkston, MI, office, and has more than 25 years of experience in test and automation. He has been with WTI since 2007. Prior to WTI, Todd was the owner of GTech Automation, an NI Alliance Partner, where he was responsible for all sales activity. Todd will focus on the day-to-day operations and organization of the sales department.
