Hardware-in-the-Loop Test Systems
Wineman Technology, Inc. is a world-class inovator in the design, build, and implementation of complete hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and model-in-the-loop (MIL) systems. Wineman Technology helped pioneer efforts to develop a complete HIL/MIL software platform using National Instruments (NI) LabVIEW™ as the foundation. These efforts are now part of NI VeriStand, a flagship HIL/MIL product from National Instruments. Our early development efforts and familiarity with the inner workings of NI VeriStand uniquely qualify us to maximize the benefits of and provide top-notch integration services for this software platform.
Whether testing an embedded controller or a simple device, validating the software and hardware to ensure proper functionality can be a daunting task – identifying all possible operational scenarios is difficult, at best. Proper validation requires a test methodology that not only tests the electronic control unit (ECU) through its entire operating range but one that executes each test consistently while checking for the proper system response. Development for both the software and the hardware is an iterative process taking numerous versions; once it is developed, testing in its actual use case does not provide enough structure to ensure tests are executed consistently or with enough operational variation to properly identify failure modes. Ensuring the same tests are executed identically after each process iteration is critical.
