Steering Pump Test Stand
The Steering Pump Test Stand is designed to test pumps in environmental extremes. The system utilizes a real-time control system for all machine functions, a second controller to capture high-speed data from accelerometers and microphones, and order analysis to determine pass/fail criteria.
The test evaluates pump pressure and flow characteristics along with shaft power (using RPM and torque). A configurable test sequence builder allows test technicians to create tests for new pumps without requiring LabVIEW™ programming knowledge. Test oil temperature is controlled using a water/oil heat exchanger and a circulation heater through a filter kidney loop. A closed loop vector drive is provided for driving pumps at speeds from 500 to 8,000 RPM. Pump pressure is controlled by using servo valve. Dual positive displacement flow meters are provided to ensure accurate readings for pumps with multiple flow outputs.
