Crank Shaft Inspection System
The Crank Shaft Inspection System is a turnkey production system that inspects machined crank shafts utilizing nine cameras and beam lasers to provide 100% product assurance.
The part enters the inspection area on a pallet and is brought to a stop. A lift mechanism engages the part and lifts it off the pallet. Once lifted, the part is rotated to several inspection points. At various points, the lasers are utilized to ensure deburring and oil through holes are clear. The cameras are utilized to check for lobe alignment, chamfers, and thread detection.
"I originally sourced another company for our equipment and yet another NI alliance member for an upgrade, dissatisfied with the performance and in an emergency need, I contacted WTI on a Friday afternoon. The next day, a Saturday, an engineer was on-site."
